The Surrender That Unlocks Success

Surrendering your will does not come easy. That is why Jesus described it as taking up a cross (Matthew 16:24-27). A cross is not comfortable, but it is transformational.
Even Jesus wrestled with His will in Gethsemane. Matthew 26 tells us He was grieved, distressed, and prayed three times, asking the Father if there was another way. In His humanity, He did not want the pain, but He surrendered to purpose. The cross was the death of self-will, but it unlocked the resurrection of Kingdom authority.
The same is true in your marketplace assignment. Killing self-will might mean walking away from a toxic opportunity, letting go of a personal agenda, or laying down ambition that is not aligned with God’s plan. It will feel like loss at first. But what looks like death is actually the seed of life.
Everybody wants success, but not everyone wants sacrifice. Everybody wants influence, but few want the discipline. Yet in the Kingdom, resurrection only comes after crucifixion. When you lay down self-will, God raises you into new positions, new influence, and new prosperity.
Your work, your relationships, your creativity, and your leadership all thrive when His will governs. What dies is ego, burnout, and striving. What lives is purpose, alignment, and sustainable impact.
When your self-will dies, your God-given destiny can finally live again. It is not the version shaped by your own plans or preferences, but the one designed by God from the beginning. When you yield control, you make room for God to take you further than your will ever could.
The principles in GPS: God’s Principled System walk you through this same process of surrender, showing how yielding your will to God’s principles produces results in real time.
